What a good coffee supplier does for your business

For a coffee shop, the supplier matters as much as the coffee. Customers notice immediately when the kopi tastes different from last week, and a late delivery on a busy morning costs more than any discount saved on price. A good supplier gives you the same cup every time, delivers when they say they will and helps your staff when something goes wrong.

KEFI supplies and distributes coffee directly to businesses across Malaysia. We do not run a reseller or agent programme, so you deal with the people who roast and pack your coffee, not a middleman.

What we supply

Most kopitiams order Hainan kopi powder for sock brewing, roasted with butter and sugar the way local customers expect. Alongside it we supply Ipoh-style and gula Melaka white coffee, ground or as 3-in-1 premix, and functional coffee such as MCT, collagen, protein and sugar-free blends for health-focused shelves.

For offices and hotel rooms there are single-serve drip bags; for espresso menus there are roasted beans, which have their own page covering Italian espresso blends, single origins and green beans. Tea and cocoa round out the drinks menu, so one supplier covers the whole counter.

Choosing or changing a coffee supplier

If you are comparing suppliers, look past the price per kilo. Ask for samples and brew them on your own equipment, with the milk and sugar your customers use, because a coffee that tastes good at the supplier's office can taste different in your sock or machine.

Check how often they can deliver, and whether their pack sizes suit your storage, since coffee kept too long loses its aroma. Ask what happens if your staff change or the equipment misbehaves; when a coffee shop buys equipment from us, we train the staff to brew with it. If you are switching, run the new coffee alongside the old one for a short period so regular customers do not notice a sudden change.

How supply works from week to week

Once your blend and pack sizes are settled, we agree a delivery rhythm that matches how fast you use coffee, so you are neither running out nor sitting on stock. Our Butterworth roastery works with partner factories in Teluk Intan, the Klang Valley and Johor, which lets us supply businesses across the country rather than only near Penang.

Busy periods such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and school holidays change how much coffee shops use, so it helps to plan those orders a little earlier. Partner production is certified for Halal, HACCP and MeSTI.

Different businesses, different needs

Kopitiams and food courts mainly need consistency and dependable delivery for a high volume of kopi. Cafes and restaurants care more about matching beans and blends to their menu. Hotels and caterers want coffee that holds up at a breakfast buffet and drip bags for the rooms, while offices look for drip bags and 3-in-1 sticks that need no equipment.

Retailers and minimarts want shelf-ready packs that sell themselves, such as our own Lao Mao (老猫標) kopi and functional coffee. We tailor pack sizes and delivery to each of these, rather than offering one standard list to everyone.

Helping our OEM clients sell wholesale

Brands that make their coffee with us often want to sell it to shops and distributors of their own. That needs more than good coffee: outer cartons with sensible pack counts and carton labels, a price structure that leaves a margin at retail, wholesale and distributor level, and a sales kit with product sheets, photos and a catalogue for their sales calls.

Our design and digital marketing teams prepare these alongside production, and can list products in online stores, including our partner store Oh! Sesame. If you do not have your own brand yet, start with our OEM coffee page.

Getting started

Tell us your type of business and location, the products you need, roughly how much you use each month and what brewing equipment you have. We will send samples, then quote pack sizes, pricing and a delivery schedule for your plan. Wholesale prices and minimum orders are shared in that consultation.
